Fibre L.P. (OFI) is the founding member of the OFI Group of companies.
Conceived of in 1976 and up and running by 1980, OFI began manufacturing
commercial insulation products. In 1983, OFI began manufacturing residential
"batt" insulation for the Canadian market.
By 1991, OFI was distributing its products throughout Canada for
new home construction, renovating and upgrading.
In 1992, OFI started manufacturing ceiling panels, the only manufacturer
of fibre glass insulation in North America to also make ceiling
tiles.
In 1994, OFI expanded distribution of its products to the United
States of America, and around the world.
Today, the OFI Group consists of Ottawa Fibre L.P. (Ottawa, Ontario), Redcliff Fibre L.P. (Redcliff, Alberta), Tillsonburg Fibre L.P. (Tillsonburg, Ontario) and VIB L.P. (Ottawa, Ontario).
In September 2005, OFI became an Income Trust (OFI Income Fund - OFB.UN) and is listed on the Toronto Stock Exchange (TSX)
The OFI Group manufactures fibre glass insulation products for:
- Residential,
- Commercial, and
industrial,
- Interior and decorative markets.
The OFI Group sells worldwide from its three locations in Eastern
and Western North America.
